Mentors in this demographic report more stability in their personal and professional lives, translating to longer-lasting matches.
As a result, youth paired with mentors 55+ experience stronger educational and emotional outcomes.

The impact of volunteering is felt not only by Littles. Mentoring has benefits for Bigs 55+,
including increases in self-reported physical, mental, and social engagement.

While nearly 35% of all volunteers nationwide are 55 or older, Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Tennessee’s
mentor base is comprised of only 18% from this demographic.

NOW IS THE TIME TO IGNITE POTENTIAL IN AREA YOUTH!
