Bowl For Kids’ Sake 2020

#Bowl4KidsETN

WHAT IS IT?

Bowl for Kids’ Sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters of East TN’s largest and longest-running fundraiser. The event brings together more than 1,000 supporters throughout East Tennessee for celebratory, one-hour bowling parties. Donations made to Bowl For Kids’ Sake defend the potential of hundreds of youth—last year, BBBS-ETN made 140 matches through Bowl for Kids’ Sake.

THIS YEAR’S FUNDRAISING GOAL OF $150,000 WILL HELP US CONTINUE TO IGNITE POTENTIAL IN EAST TENNESSEE!

BOWLING BASICS

Step 1 – Create your personal fundraising page—it’s easy to do online. (More details in Step 2.)

Step 2 – Team captains should register first. If you’re a team captain for Knoxville, Anderson, or Blount or Tri-Cities, you’ll create a personal fundraising page on our online platform. The process is the same whether you’re captaining a social or a corporate team.

Next choose the “Team” tab on your fundraising page and set yourself as captain—your teammates will then join the team AFTER you and they have set up everyone’s personal fundraising pages. (As captain, you’re responsible for setting the team fundraising goal. Go Big!) Once your personal and team fundraising page are created, you’re ready to recruit 3–5 teammates and start fundraising! In February 2020, we’ll open up the option to register for bowling locations, dates, and times.

If you’re not a team captain, you’ll still need to create a personal fundraising page. Be sure that you know your team name and that you join it from the dropdown when you create your individual page. Your team captain will need to select a lane time and location for you later—but, for now, just focus on creating your personal fundraising page and sending it out far and wide.

Please note that we require teams to raise a $250 minimum (approximately $50 per bowler), but some of our top team’s raise much more! Tri-Cities bowlers are asked to raise a minimum of $25. See below for details on prizes.

Need help fundraising? Don’t worry, we’ve got you! See our 2020 tips, and check back for more ideas as the event nears.

Step 3 – Once you are on a roll with fundraising, your team captain will need to pick your bowling date, time, and location. We’re working hard to secure the locations, so stay tuned! Our bowling events are to celebrate the hard work your team did by fundraising for our Littles, so come ready to hang out with the BBBS-ETN team and maybe even the Littles you helped match with a mentor through your fundraising.

Step 4 – Join us for a one-hour slot at one of our bowling parties! (Dates and times to come.) Show up to your scheduled bowling session 15-30 minutes early to make check-in a breeze. Turn in any pledges you may have, snag your prizes and goody bag, and have a great time while enjoying free bowling and fun prizes.

SPONSORSHIPS

Sponsorships help ensure 100% of the funds you raise go to our mission. They cover the costs of things like lane rentals, food, and even those fancy bowling shoes. We’re in the process of building our 2020 sponsorship grid, but, in the meantime, you can check out 2019’s. If you are interested, email Noah McBrayer Jones or call 865.523.9455.
